Windland believes that we have a responsibility to be good stewards of our environment. With increasing concerns of global warming and pollution, we see our industry as part of the answer to a global need for clean energy. Building clean, renewable, wind energy power plants, is one way that we believe we can give back to future generations.
Unlike traditional forms of electricity, wind does not emit carbon or mercury, and it does not consume water. In addition, there is no fuel cost associated with wind, which provides for long-term price stability.
Protecting the environment is one of the cornerstones of our company. We take a comprehensive stance on environmental stewardship by conducting extensive wildlife tests for our projects. Windland worked with the BLM to create an Environmental Impact Statement for the Cotterel Mountain Wind Project and recently received the first Record of Decision from BLM for a large-scale commercial wind energy project on public lands in the US.
