The first Danamer projects were built in 1989 as a partnership between Windland and Vestas Wind Energy. The project was successful as production exceeded projections. In 1991, a second Danamer project was built, again successful. The Danamer projects were the first to use the V-25 and V-27 technology in the US.
Windland eventually purchased Vestas’s interest. The Danamer projects continue to produce at a 98% availability with modest maintenance cost.
